Sony 5000ES Bluray Frame Rate Issues...

Hi everyone!

I have a Sony 5000ES Bluray player and have noticed the frame rate seems a little jumpy from time to time. It's not currently running QUITE the latest firmware, however it's only started glitching recently. Audio still runs smooth, just looks as though it occasionally misses a frame. Was just wondering if anyone else may have come across a similar issue?

I used to see that with the PS3 - but I was told by another forum that I was the only one who could see it and that it didn't exist

It's probably not this, as you say it's only starting happening recently, but could it be anything to do with an 'audio sync' setting, either on the amp or player? I had this problem, where the picture would seem to jump a frame or two, but it was intermittent and if I replayed the scene where it happened it wouldn't happen again!

I managed to solve it by playing with the sync settings.

That seems to be the exact thing that is happening! If I skip backwards and watch again, the frame rate is fine. It does seem to be intermittent and there doesn't seem to be a consistency to it.
