I happen to listen to both speakers as well. I prefer the toy over the LS50's any day, but thats just me. Properly the LS50's will do resolution better than the toys. Like mentioned before the toy's are much easier to drive. I remember well from the demo of the toy's they very good at picking out details yet easy going sound. The LS50's seem to do everything right but as a whole musical picture something was missing for me, could not place my finger on it.
Presentation of music is a very personal thing. Demo is always the answer.
