At last have installed Sonos and I just can't get over what a simple. straightforward process it was. Spotify and Itunes to it no probs. And the ipad app is just too good.

Just got it myself and totally agree. People get Sonos , Simple to use and it works. Fortunately I have very good CD player which sounds better. But the flexibility and sheer choice of music available on sonos is a joy. Now very tempted to get every room sonosed. Time for the 10% amazon promotion me thinks.

Another one to a rave about Sonos. Even the wife now uses it as her main way of listening to music at home.

Yes I came down Sunday morning to find the missus had used the CR100 to set Radio 2 playing, which is something she's never done before. If she can do that then it must be simple as she's the biggest technophobe you've ever seen!

Come on chaps, if you try a bit harder you could be a touch more patronising

Maybe i'll suggest to Sonos an update along the lines of this Mini advert. Sonos: so simple your Mrs can use it

I wasn't been patronising. She is no technophobe-she works for a software developer. She is just resistant to gadgets that I buy. She likes a product to do what she wants on her terms and not have to faf around with it. She liked the Napster trial as it let her try some albums out to put to see if she wanted them on her Christmas list. And don't even go there about driving. She got the highest score on a 4x4 centre works day out. She just did what the instructor said rather than doing what she thought should be done-like all the lads did.

scene:My comment on the Sonos is that it's so simple, my 6 year old selects his own stories and music for bedtime from the iPad app - and loves it!

I've thought about putting some of laddoes songs and stories on the NAS. He has some on a memory stick in the car which he always wants on. Harry and his bloomin' Bucketful of Dinosaurs...

Do it! No more faffing with CDs, really easy just to select part of a longer story - like a couple of chapters of a longer book, he'll love it. I've got S5s my two older boys' rooms, and the youngest will get one in due course...

I wasn't been patronising.

Nope, neither was I, normally she puts the normal radio on if she's up before me, this week I came downstairs, stumbled into the living room and sat down, to be greeted by her sitting there with a big smile on her face. "I did it!" quoth she, "huh?", "The Sonos, I put it on all by myself!" "oh yeah" (I hadn't even noticed the difference in the sound! It was early...).

She was very pleased with herself, I was merely repeating the story. If that's patronising I might put my CV in to Sky Sports...

I did, if any of you noticed, put a wink after my 'patronising' comment - just a bit of humour!

On an unrelated note, we've got a cracking Sonos competition coming up in our next, March issue (on sale Feb 10th)

The whole thing is sooo simple. First instalation, then added my NAS drive. Just a few seconds ago, I realised I had left the controller AND phone downstairs, and wanted to listen to my S5.

Visit SONOS site, download desktop controller and install on this PC et voila!!!! (lazy I know, but inventive)

Must admit the desktop controller is the only bit I've ever had trouble with, it worked when I first installed it on my old PC but subsequently never managed to find any ZPs. It's probably a firewall issue (although I completely disabled it) but, given I never use the desktop controller, I haven't bothered pursuing the matter. I have downloaded the DC on this laptop but it wants me to go through all the ZP discovery again and I can't be stuffed, I don't need it, what with a CR100 and the Android controller.

True Blue:I just pressed the mute and vol + on my S5 and when it connected it "saw" all my other components. Seeemples

Yeah, granted that's for new components but I don't want to do that for all the components, I can't be bothered to go scrabbling around under the cupboards to find the ZP120. Last time I did this you had to do that for all the ZPs.
