OK... so this is either cool or embarassing but it's about £700.
I looked in my FLAC folder and it says 184 for 2013. Please note that there are 3 of us who all buy CDs. On closer inspection there are about 30 which had their contents/album art updated, so that makes it 154. Now not all of these will be full price newbies, I noted that there are CDs like Blur Great Escape, Chris Rea, Guns n Roses, Thin Lizzy, Il Divo, Musicals and some Operas.... all of these will have been bought 2nd hand or cheap new on ebay and the like. So I reckon around 100 CDs for the year. Add to this any we get from Santa.
So I reckon around 100 (to counteract those bought on the cheap) at around £7.00 each gives £700. Divide by 3 peeps gives around £230 each. I know that my wife has bought the most because of the albums listed in 2013 are to her taste... also my son likes only rock/punk and some dance/chart stuff and he's happiest listening to my old stuff from the 70/80s.
Thank you for asking this question because I just saw that bought the Clash singles CD and had forgotten about it. just had a listen............. what a stormer.. in my element on my AKG 450s, no talking... just rocking.
On the question of how much it all costs, current folder count is 2522 albums. I've managed to sell on/give away/bin around 500 albums that i know that we will never listen to again, even for "old times sake" since last year. So if you multiply 2522 by £7.00 this gives £17,654.00 woth of CDs. I used tho DJ when younger so I would hate to add all the record costs to this, as I know this used to be up in the 1000's...... can't count this though as it was all tax deductable etc.
Soooo.... all in all all... a good bit of fun, intersting excercise. Next question ..... shall I tell the others in the family how much??? Methinks not, might not go on holiday in 2014. AND TO END going to listen to Lionel Richie and the Commodores Definitive Collection.
