Hi,

I'm going to mount a smallish (22-26") TV on the wall in the kitchen. Mostly it'll be background noise showing something from FreeView. However, I'd like to be able to play DVDs or AVIs so would like a TV that has either a built in DVD player or - ideally - a USB input for playing AVIs.

Have had a trawl around, but came up wanting - anyone any suggestions?

Thanks!

Had similar requirements recently co complement a projector.

Found it was better to go for a 26" rather than 22" in terms of minimal extra rpcie and better connectivity / features.

Samsung 26LEC450, £299 with 5 year guarantee at John Lewis I found to be the best bet and I'm pleased with it. Plays MKV on NTFS USB.

Hope this helps. I don't think you'll go wrong with this for a kitchen.

Brill, thanks kinda. I suspect you've got your model anagrammed a bit - Samsung's website calls it LE26C450. According to the manual it supports FAT16 and FAT32 as well as NTSC. £279.99 on play.com, which is great because I have one of their credit cards and have racked up about £200 of credit!

sounds like the job, appreciate the advice.

Thanks Laserman, appreciate the post. FWIW, I'm going to stay away from "no brand" kit for this....

Kitchen closer to end than the start now. Underfloor heating all plumbed in last week, kitchen cabinets arrive this week, fitted next, toys (ahem, entertainment devices) the week after...
