hi, can any one suggest a pair of compact floorstanders to go with a new harmon kardon hk3490 reciever, which will replace my marantz pm 7200, which is going for a rest in the great hifi cupboard under the stairs, i was thinkig of purchasing a yamaha cds 700 cd playerto replace a nad c541i, which i have never really loved and a old marantzcd60se, which is also going for a rest. current speakers are tannoy mercury f1 custom which i bought at christmas as a stop gap, but they sound good way above there price.living room is fairly small approx 4x6 meters, cluttered by usual furniture, tv, av system ectc.musical taste mainly sixties, seventies, neil young, springsteen, dylan ect. cheers

KEF IQ5SEs could be the trick; compact floorstander, sleek design, curved box shape. Once upon a time, a pair of Royd Minstrels would've been a good choice, but they're long gone.

The Acoustic Energy Neo 3's would be worth looking at as well.

Easy to drive and sound very good indeed. Lovely finish to them as well
