Hi

I am looking to buy a DVD Recorder and would appreciate a bit of advice on what to buy. There are two reasons I particularly want the Recorder. The first is because I tend to save a lot of live music programmes to my existing Sky Plus hard drive and it fills up quickly so I want to be able to burn them to DVD. The second reason is that I want to convert a lot of existing Videos to DVD. My question is whether I need buy a DVD Recorder with a hard dive or not, and also, are there any issues I need to be aware of regarding downloading the music content from the Sky Plus unit to an external device.

Hi,

I would say go for one with a Hard Drive as most will allow you to edit things like the start / finish and more importantly - adverts, then it is a case of burning to disc.

I use my Pioneer one, not very often, but I bought it before I had Sky HD so still have it connected and when needed (concerts etc) it is a superb machine to have.

As for ' downloading the music content from Sky ...' - I have had no issues but I am not entirely certain, maybe someone else has experience with that.

Hope this is of use.

Regards Si.
