I noticed you haven't had a response so I hope I'm not too late in responding SKY SKY SKY!! In my experience everything they do is better than Virgin. I ditched Virgin to get Sky HD, Broadband and a telephone line. Better quality, value and service

I've had cable in its various company guises since it started in the UK and have no complaints. Biggest grumble is that they do need to get more HD programming although their on demand service is very good. Don't forget you're not paying for films which you have no interest in watching like you do when you subscribe to the Sky movie channels. The V+ box is great too and very easy to use and reliable. The SD picture quality on Virgin varies but that's only down to the signal they're fed from the broadcasters. You won't lose your signal either when it rains heavily or snows - our freesat feed broke up during a downpour at the weekend. The broadband is superb (fast, reliable, no speed drop offs and no download limits). The phone service is fine and you can also get some excellent deals on mobiles. Virgin's customer service on the whole is very good (although try and call before 9.00 in the evening, as after then you can end up at an Indian call centre with all the 'joy' that holds). And the thought of putting any more cash into the obnoxious Murdoch family's evil empire makes me very uneasy.

For HD sky's a no-brainer. The cable internet is better but do you really need it? Plus I don't know if it's a general thing or a band experience, but our internet packed up mid october and virgin don't seem to have any clue or interest in fixing it, unfortunately living in a conservation area a sky dish is $$$

Certainly I'd go for Sky if it's HD you're interested in - they still have a far greater choice of HD channels than Virgin. Mind you, this story might interest you if you're not in any hurry.
