I have not subscribed to Sky for about 5 or 6 years now, but I have just purchased a Panasonic TH42PZ85B. To get Sky HD installed it is going to cost me well over £350 to get Sky HD installed. As I still have my existing Sky Satellite Dish on the roof of my house, would it be better to purchase a Sky Box on Ebay as they appear to be much cheaper, or do I need a new dish to receive Sky HD

Why will it cost this much? To new customers it is £250 plus £30 installation, but I am sure you can haggle on the initial figure. I have just had it installed - I am a Sky customer - and they changed my sat dish to a new one as they said the old one would stop working when it rained. Well it never stopped working when it rained before so Sky HD must be something really special!!!

You can get them to drop the installation charge by threatening to leave. Tell them you are going to Virgin and/or Freesat and they will soon strike a deal for you.

I did this when my HD box broke out of warranty, and they sent me a new one for free. So I tried it for my mum and they upgraded her to Sky+ for free.
