Aparently, Sky have advertised a deal for sky HD costing £75 HD box + £30 install in the Sun and Times within the last few days. Has anyone here seen the offers, and taken it up?

Had a mailshot from Sky quoting £75 + £60 installation yesterday morning for existing customers.

I got this deal from a promotional stand at a shopping mall, but was a new customer - surely sky must do the decent thing and offer the same deal to existing customers. . . .

I had bog standard sky. I phoned up to enquire about an upgrade to HD. They quoted £150 for the box and £60 install. I turned them down.
I phoned back about an hour later and threatend to leave Sky and go to Freesat. They then quoted £75 + £30. Which I accepted

This was about 4 days ago for reference...

- an extra tenner a month I think. Still grates me a bit that we have to pay for something like this. By my reckoning in 12 months Freesat will be at full steam and Sky will then have to stop charging for HD. So, I'll ride out my minimum 12 month subscription and then see how the land lies...
