And if so, was it any good? Richard Keys has been bigging it up for the entire broadcast on HD, so would be interested to know what sort of quality was received.

Our esteemed editor was at the game, and the plan was he was going to watch first half live and then second half on TV in 3D.

Watch this space for copious bloggage...

...once he's stopped raging/sobbing at the result (and reading teasing texts from our United-supporting News Ed)

Given the half time score, Arsenal 0-2 Man U, i'd say all thoughts of enjoying the 3D experience went out the window

And if it had'nt it was certaintly gone 10 mins in to the 2nd half..

Was hoping the Arsenal would beat them.

Interested to see the write up of the demo after watching Avatar in 3D last night. I though the animated 3D elements of the film was far superior to the live action trailers they showed.

Might it be a bit of a Betamax or HD-DVD all this 3D thing?

i dont think it can fail , its just a matter of how long it takes to really get going , looking forward to hearing what it was like with the soccer , on a 47in tv ....

The glasses were a bit weird, they don't look like they cost that much. Bit Harry Potter like.

Bit like these but with a touch of Harry Potter in my opinion.

So, did you watch the 3D broadcast? Otherwise your comments are a bit pointless...

Who's Harry Porter?

Sorreltiger:He's the person you ask when you wanted to go to Birmingham, but they've taken you on to Crewe

Oh, Mr Porter...

Didn't see the football, but as someone mentioned Avatar, over here there were actually a few 3D

adverts before the feature that were rather good, Pepsi & Samsung if I remember correctly.

calling all those who watched the match in 3D...would u care to share yr experience?

in malaysia where i am based, we will be getting the world cup games in hd, not 3d. our satellite provider won't be equipped to transmit 3d for a while, so i would be happy if anyone in uk could comment on watching football in 3D.

If I might just clear up some of the confusion. Harry Potter is a fictional character who appears in a series of books, the titles of which begin 'Harry Potter and.........'. The author of the series is called J.K. Rowling. The books are works of fiction, not autobiographical pieces.

I hope this has been of some use.

JohnDuncan:So we're onto page 2 and still nobody actually saw it...

Theres some initial impressions on a couple of other forums, and from what i can gather, it was a good experience provided you managed to get a seat in the 'sweet spot' .

gel:You can tell I have never read one of his book's.

Well he does write them mainly for kid's...

heh! can always depend on AE to bring the joke's. (not GW Russell, faod).
