Hi,
Do people feel that certain manufacturers have a 'signature' sound, or does it vary by model to model?
I'm not a serial auditioner, and I've only ever owned two distinct hi-fi setups, so I haven't heard masses of kit in listening rooms. All the time you hear people refer to 'that NAD sound', or how they don't like 'the KEF sound' etc. do people think manufacturer's have distinct sounds or styles, and if so, how would you characterise the following?
KEF
NAD
B&W/Rotel – same sound?
Monitor Audio
Marantz
Mission
Just interested from a system matching point of view as to why some brands generally, even spanning different ranges across a number of years, work well with each other.
Cheers.
