hi again, waited over 3 weeks and no advice so lets have another go at posting on here.

ok i have an issue with my hd20 projector losing signals after about 1hour50mins which is getting extremely annoying im useing the pioneer lx53 reciever and have been in contact with pioneer themshelves and they only say its possibly the length of hdmi cable, sevenoaks seem to be absolutely useless and wasnt prepared to lend me another cable test so after 2months now i have decided to get another cable to test and it hasnt cure the issue and im getting extremly fed up with the whole projector thing now.

So im wondering is their anyone out there that could assist before i take a sledge to the projector

Errm, why don't you contact the retailer you bought the projector from? I think it's vanishingly unlikely to be a cable issue, there's no reason a cable would give up after a certain period of time, however there's every possibility that a projector or receiver could overheat after that sort of time causing a component to temporarily fail.

Either way I don't think you're going to find your answer here.

Have to agree with Lhc on this one and the most likely candidate to be causing the issue is your projector imo as it will be kicking out the most heat when in use. For sevenoaks to say it may be the cable sounds like a retailer clutching at straws to me as this is the most unlikely cause of such an issue!

First thing to try is to try the receiver in isolation with any other tv if that is possible, if you don't have a tv in the house beg borrow or steal one from friends and remember it can be a small tv as the size is unimportant here. If you get past the time when normally the picture would cut out then you know it's the projector at fault!

Then it's a case of back to sevenoaks as they are obligated under the consumer rights act to sort this out as you have owned it for less than 6 months, you will need to start fighting your corner im afraid but the law is on your side so contact Consumer Direct here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/UsefulContactsByCategory/Governmentcitizensandrightscontacts/DG_195948 and they will be able to advise you on how best to proceed as they are the official government backed organisation for all consumer matters.

Do try to go back to the retailer first and give them the opportunity to fix or replace before you take any further action as that is what Consumer Direct will advise in the first place but if that fails contact them and get them on your side...i can tell you from experience that wheels turn VERY quickly once a retailer knows they are involved!

Best regards and hope that is of some use to you.
