iainl2005:I have had the pleasure of owning a Yamaha Z7 now for over a year, but the curiosity of the Arcam AVR600 is getting the better of me, given that most of the bugs have been ironed out by now on the Arcam is it worth upgrading, I am running B&W 803s fronts, B&W 805s rears, B&W HTM3s, and mainly use it for Movies and gaming?
Have to say it ,Curiousity killed the cat
But seriously the fact that you are considering changing tells me that you don't like your Z7 ?
Threre was someone on another forum who had a Arcam 600 but could not live with the bugs this amp had and sold it for a Z7, he felt it was a better amp although the Arcam was slightly better for music.
That said ,he has had the Z7 tweeked by changing the internal Op amps to the same as a z11 , as usual we are never happy with what we have.
As you say you use it mainly for Movies I would stick with the Z7 or consider a Z11 demo as it is in the same price bracket of the Arcam
There is no way I would have the confidence to spend £3500.00 on an Arcam that "might" now be fault free
I have previously used Arcam amps for Home cinema , never again
