Hi there i converted from a Fat PS3 to a Sony S570 but jut checking i have my settings set up correctly to get the best possible sound when play HD Master Audio/HD DTS Blu-Ray Discs. I am running it through my Onkyo 608 Receiver.

On the BD Audio Mix Setting do i set it to Off or On?

DTS Neo 6 Setting do i set it to Off/Cinema or Music?

Audio DRC do i set to Auto/Standard or Widerange?

Thanks in Advance

Andy

I think if you are bitstreaming to the Onkyo 608, BD Audio mix should be set of OFF

I assume that the neo setting is for the onboard decoding,

and I'm not sure about the Audio DRC.

Could any of the What hifi testing team confirm what we should be setting the Audio DRC to ? Auto, stadard or wide range.

I have the similar S350

I suggest you set BD mix to off, DTS Neo to off as you are using the onkyo to do the decoding. I have audio DRC set to auto.

This should send un-altered signal to your receiver for decoding.

I've read alot on the web that say it should be set to wide range, just wondered what the test team used when they test these players out.

We'd recommend setting it to standard, but it's worth experimenting to decide which sounds best to you.

Hi Andy, Thanks for the reply. In the manual standard suggests that it compresses.

Andy, any further info on why it should be standard and not wide range ?
