I have been led to believe that an option to buying a hi-fi stand is some material or foam that can be placed between the units to avoid vibration. Does anyone know what this is and where I can get it from?

Cheers

Not sure about foam but I think isotek make isolation feet which you attach beneath your components - there about £15. There essentially squash balls cut in half but are proven to minimise vibration

Try cutting squash balls in half and sitting them under each component. Am not joking!

To avoid vibration from what?

It will block the ventilation. Don't do it.
