Well today has been a throughly pants day.
Changing the foam tips on my IE8's and the nozzle snapped clean off. After a couple of hours fruitless searching online I'm resigned to the fact that if a repair attempt fails I'm gonna have to fork out for some new headphones for the first time in 10 years.
Whats even more annoying is I found an old pair of Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro's buried at the back of a cupboard only to find their knackered too.
To cut to the chase - I really don't want to have to spend more than £200 if I can help it but what would be a suitable replacement for the IE8's??
I listen to a mixture of modern metal (Tesseract, Northlane, Parkway Drive, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Ghost) and Retro Electronic (Gunship, Carpenter Brut, Lazerhawk etc). It will be running from Tidal/Spotify on my Galaxy Note 8 into a PA2V2 pocket amp if necessary.
For now I'm having to make do with the IE6's I had before the IE8's and to say I'm missing their big brothers already is an understatement.
