Sennheiser HD 800, equivalent sound?

Ok, one more time, many thanks. Everybody`s been really helpful. I guess in the end I`m gonna have to wait until I next visit a big town, or simply take a risk. I`m stll leaning towards the Bowers and Wilkins PX8 S2, but the PX8 original may be ok too??? Cheaper!! Tricky. Even second hand, the Sennheisers are a bit out of my price range. I really appreciate all the help.

I was reading the positive customer comments on Amazon about the HE1000V2, this was from a Sennheiser HD800 owner who upgraded to the Hifiman's, he was completely blown over.

Don't overlook the planars, the SE version have replaced HE1000V2, so these are now being heavily discounted, the original price a few years ago were about £1.2K but Amazon are selling them for about £839.

It's worth investigating, you can always send them back if you don't like them but I think, you'll be well pleased! 🙂
