Second hand hifi in Australia??? Help

Hi,

I have come over stay with my brother in Sydney for a while, and he wants to get some second hand hifi gear. Only when I am looking on Ebay, there is hardly anything. Does anybody know any good second hand hifi shops in and around Sydney, or second hand hifi places?

He has a small budget of about $500, which will get him hardly anything, but am amp, bookshelf speakers, and cd player would be needed.

I have seen an old 90watt stereo receiver made from Sansui, and it is an old one, think 1970's.... Is this any good.

You will have to excuses my ramblings, as this is just a few hours of landing, and the flight was 32 hours door to door!!

First off, there's Eastwood HiFi (link here: http://www.eastwoodhifi.com.au/specials.htm) but likely well over the price range needed. Worth a call to see what they recommend elsewhere though I think or if they can keep him in mind for entry level stuff coming in.

Sansui: which one is it? They made some great stuff in the 70s - get a hold of the model number and check around the web. Here's a link to a classic Sansui site - http://www.classicsansui.net/Integrated%20Amplifiers.htm - I've specified the amps page. It's not going to cover all of their kit, but it might have something you recognise on there. I'll readily admit that the AU-X1 (the first one on the page) looks very appealing!

Hi,

Ebay (sometimes end up paying too much, but where i got most of my amps etc), also Cash Converters, not everything is bad there, picked a great cd player up there for only 35. Gumtree, local papers. I came across a site wiredforsound i think it was, just google it, had a few amps cds and stuff there.
