Screen Judder

Me and my shiny new Panasonic 37PX80 are very happy together. We have spent many glorious hours together as I watch her showing off her beautiful HD pictures. I only have one gripe/concern - occasional screen 'judder' - I dont know how else to describe it. Its most noticeable as many have pointed out on the scrolling text bars common on the news channels, runs smoothly and then its almost as if the frames per second rate is reduced and the text appears to judder.

I have noticed this recently on HD programming, the odd movement here and there jumps out as being 'juddery' in a similar way to the text - ie movement looks jumpy. My questions are these:

1. I have my SKY HD box manually set to 1080i - will this affect things - should it be on auto?
2. What causes intermittent screen judder?
3. Is it a fault that lies with the tv or the HD box?

As usual, many thanks for any help/advice/experiences.

try changing your sky box to 720p and see if that makes things a little smoother - i don't have Skyhd but have my toppy 5810 set to 720p rather than 1080i as personally think picture is better/smoother etc IMHO

Personally I would set the HD boxes output to AUTO as the scalers in your Panasonis are better that that of the Sky HD box. As for this eradicating the Judder it may well do but this Judder may also be simply down to the entire scaling process of a SD broadcast to a HD screen, but on my FULL HD Samsung with my HD box set to AUTO I dont notice it.
