Samsung UE 46 6510 any good??

Is the backlight bleed on samsung sets a real problem or is it just on the odd few?? I went into a store to look at this series and the picture was brilliant. After reading a few comments about samsungs there seems to be a major problem with older sets, i cant find anything about this series though. After scowering the internet for a week or so its came down to this set or a lg px990 which gets rave reviews. Cheers

hi i have a samsung 6530 which developed the backlight bleed it has now gone back to retailer for repair or replacement i also looked in currys and comet at this particular series 6 and could not see this problem on any of the sets i think you are just unlucky like me and got a bad one obviously i dont know how long you have had it but if under a year talk to the retailer and get it looked at i was advised on the forum that this is a fault so i took there advice and am getting it looked at

I havnt purchased it yet, but was really thinking of buying it. Had a quick check through a couple of forums and seen there seem to be problems with Samsungs. I couldnt find alot about this series though so was unsure wether to get it. Havnt read one bad review about the LG PX990 though and can get a really good deal on it at the minute so it might be worth going with that.

I would also consider the Sony range the new Ex or Hx, definetly improved from last year with all the backlight and bleed issues. One model im very much interested is the Sony 46EX713u at £799 after vat back seems a great price and around the price of the 503, so your getting an upgraded model for free.

I didnt even consider this model but having looked it up it seems very similar to the samsung but £100 less. Havnt seen many people with them though?? I didnt realise making a decision on the tv set to get would be so hard ha.
