Hi

With the on and off switch on the samsung tv are all the models the same with when you turn the tv off on the front it just goes into standby?

Also is there anyway of getting around the fact you have to turn the mains on each time unless you wish to leave it in standby all the time?

I don't know about the latest models, but it is certainly true of older models I've seen (2007/2008/2009). It always struck me as a bit odd to be honest. My son has a 23inch Samsung and at first I used to berate him for leaving it on standby all the time, not realising that you cannot turn it off, except at the plug, which he now does (he's a good lad really

Although the light remains on and its in 'standby' mode the actual power it is using is tiny. I know this cos I have mine plugged into one of those mains devices that then switches all other devices off when the main one is switched off - i.e. it's drawing little or no power, whenever I put the TV into 'Standby' all the other devices also go off.
