hi ive noticed when watching blueray i have a feature on the tv called cinema smooth option in the motion judder cancellation should i use this for a better picture or am i getting the best picture anyway with the blueray playing back at 24 frames per second any suggestions would be welcome

Usually, you'll get the best picture quality by turning all the artificial motion processors off. But that doesn't stop you from trying it out & checking if you like the picture or not.

This is the same as 24fp smooth that i have on my Pana plasma and i've never used it. When you display a movie a 24fps you are watching it in the way it was intended by the film maker and to introduce processing at that point really goes against the principle of 24fps as you are then adding extra frames when using the processing and that usually introduces picture issues such as artefacts and shimmering or people suddenly appearing to have an unnatural look.

As a rule you should just watch a movie in 24fps but if you find the smooth option better for you then use it, just be aware of what you are doing to the picture by using it!
