Samsung H6400 and sony DH800

Just a quick one. I have just brought a Samsung 40H6400 after a good review on here and im very happy after the upgrade. I currently have a Sony STR DH800 amplifier which all works great.

Currently I havr all sources connected to the amp ie Sky, PS4, popcorn etc etc. As most will know the tv being a smart tv can play all sorts of media from apps and itv player but if i do then i dont get any sound out of the amp if its via the TV source. I only get sound from the sources plugged into the amp. I hope this makes sense.

I have the amp out to the HDMI 1 on the tv. Any ideas, prob be a simple one i bet. Cheers guys

Connect the HDMI cable to HDMI 2 of the Samsung. This supports ARC (audio return channel).

Thanks ive done this and still no sound. My amp doesnt support hdmi audio return ive just found out. Thats a shame.

I will have to go the optical route. I will be upgrading my amp at some point as I am getting some CM1s and M1s as rears with a sub to use as a 4.1 system. What amp would be recommended, although one that supports ARC.
