I have a Samsung UE55C7000 TV and a Synology DS211J Nas. The problem is that when i stream movies to the TV, if i pause it for a few minutes and then resume the film it stops and goes back to the start. The thing is that i have a PS3 in another room and when i link upto the Nas to either TV i have no problems at all.

ok lets take it a step back.

playback content from another source (usb for example) does the same thing happen? if so its the TV

if not maybe check some settings on the NAS (power saving etc) personally as much as they tried DLNA is just a butchered protocol and should never of entered anyones front room. It is designed to make life easy but u cant beat a good old SMB share.

I suspect it is the TV and i wonder if there is possible to work around this in any way, ie and i dont know much about this but is it possible to "SMB Share" using the nas only so the pc does not need to be on.

I've just tried playing a dvd rip (.vob) direct from my NAS to the tv via DLNA. Paused film for 15 mins came back, and it resumed at correct point.

I suspect it may be something on your NAS going into powersave, or maybe its the file format u are playing?

Some of the firmware updates for the Samsung TV's have improved network stability - are u running the latest firmware?

The format i am playing is avi but i have had a suggestion from another forum to go into the settings and setup the guest acc and this stops the tv and the nas breaking link. I will give it a go tonight.
