Just bought a samsung 3d tv with black 3d specs that you switch on (£65 for a second pair}. Quite frankly the 2d-3d function for normal tv is non existant. Picture goes fuzzy when you put the 3d on and when you put the specs on it sorts the picture out but no sign of 3d. Still to buy a 3d film which I hope will be a lot better.

Don't know which model you have, but the 2d to 3d on my set is ok with animation, nothing comes out of the screen, but it does add a little depth, which is common for conversion. Try a true 3d film, much better result, Despicable Me 3D Blu ray is a great film.

Like markjaspi says the 2-3d conversion adds a perception of depth to the picture - but u dont really get anything that seems to be between u and the pane.

I take it u played with the 3d depth setting. It ranges from 0-10 with 10 being most depth, the default is 5. Change this to 10, and it might make it more obvious.

A proper 3d source is much better as you'd expect.
