I have a rumbling noise form my Sub Woofer. This happens when AV Receiver is turned off.

Sounds like feedback, Is this normal?

Advice please??????

Yes, Just plugged straight in the back.

It is situated next to the TV rack. Am using cheap freebie cable at the mo, ordered some proper stuff.

Would this make a difference??

Just a quick thought, try switching the ground in/out switch and see if that makes a difference.

I cant see a cable making the difference to the actual problem.

What happens if you unplug the av amp?

is anything in the set-up new? I had this problem when I changed to a chord crimson cable - it was faulty. Got a new one, and no issues since.

How long does the noise last?

I used to get this when I switched to standby.

I have a Movie Solo and a PV1 subwoofer.

I recently moved the Sub and it stopped, the reason? Power Cord to close to the QED MP-SW micro cable.

It only hummed until the Sub went into standby.

Hope this helps.

My dad had this on his monoblocks fed off his pioneer amp. It was only when we changed the amp did the problem go away (We literally tried everything we could think of)

It does not rumble when the amp is switched off, but when the amp is on anf there is no sound it rumbles then.

The speakers and amp are new, Will try to move it away from the Amp.
