Hi,

I was looking for a speaker for my computer, for gamin around 100 pounds and i came across Roth Oli-RA1 recently, recommended by whathifi.com. On the other hand, i have been wanting to purchase a pair of audio engine A2+ speakers for ages. Or Q acoustic 3020

Looking for any suggestions regarding which of these 2 speakers should i get, or any other better speakers at around the same price.

The Roth Oli RA1s will need to be connected to an amplifier to work whereas the Audio Engine A2s have an amplifier built-in, so you can use them straight out of the box.

Simple solution has to be the A2+, it has a usb dac built in, analogue inputs should you need them, a bluetooth adaptor maybe and they are a proven quality product.

Can you do better for the price (£190 in the uk). Probably but you would be limited in choice and the functionality would be different. You would not get 3020s plus a suitable amp at anything like this price but you could get a pair of 2010i, Richers have some for £99 plus a usb T-amp such as a Topping VX2 at around £60-80. There are other options too, better active speakers for example but all in all the A2+ is a simple and complete solution.
