Rotel RA-1570 vs Yamaha A-S2100

So I recently (a couple of months back) purchased a Rotel RA-1570 in combination with a RCD-1570 and RDG-1520. I have them paired with B&W CDM7 NT's. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase (though maybe I was expecting just a little bit more).

I recently started picking up SA-CD's (from mobile fidelity). They're hybrids so they can be played on regular CD-players as well, I mainly bought them for the SA-CD layer though. I was under the impression that the RCD-1570 was a SA-CD player (given it's price), turns that's not the case (yeah, I should have done better research).

My question: would the Yamaha A-S2100 in combination with the CD-S2100 be a worthy upgrade? Does anyone have any experience with this amp?

you could give it a try. I'm not a fan of Yamaha though, and they sound pretty bad with B&W imo. Why only consider Yamaha though? You could at least look at a Marantz SACD player - if there's one thing Marantz do (and I'm not saying it's the only one) is build awesome sounding CD players. And just stick with the Rotel amp if you like the sound and matching looks is not a must. Or, if you need the cd player to also stream stuff, you could check out the Arcam CDS27 (haven't heard it, but it can't be that bad :p)

I doubt it will sound much better, but it will sound different. Yamaha are known for their 'warmer' sound, which may or may not suit your listening needs. I would have a listen alongside your Rotel combo if you can.

Gonna try to revive this topic. I definitely prefer a warm sound (one of the reasons I went with the CDM7 NT's) and I've heard good things about pairing B&W with Yamaha.
