Hello

i have a Rotel RA-01 integrated amplifier. After recently moving from the UK to the US I plugged in the amp using a voltage converter. The power light is on but the amp isn't working. I've tried all the output channels but no luck. Could it be an internal fuse?

help!

thanks, Sam

Are you 100% sure your getting 230V out of the step up transformer ?

Is the relay clicking ?

Also the RA-01 has a dual primary mains transformer so you just need to get an engineer to reconfigure the primary wiring for use in the US so you can eliminate using a step up transformer.

The step up transformer has 220v or 240v options and neither seem to work

i don't hear any clicking

good to know about the wiring, but I want to check it's working before paying an engineer

thanks for your advice

Might be an idea just to measure the output of the step up transformer with a multimeter just to be sure.

The protection/delay circuit on the RA-01 is limited so if it's not clicking over there are only a couple of reasons why.

First the speaker selector in the off position.

Secondly one of the 5A fuses (PCB next to the transformer) on the power supply has blown.

Protection for the speakers is taken care of by two 4A fuses.
