I have a few questions to help me try to make up my mind about what speakers to get. I don't know a great deal about Hifi and completly out of touch with todays technology. I am edging towards getting something like the denon1910 as my receiver.

My room size is about 6m by 6m. Its tiled. I listen to a lot of classical and accoustic.

1) The age old floor standing vs bookshelves. I wasn't sure between something like the B&W 685 or 684. My concerns would be, would bookshelves be lost in this room, or would floorstanding be over powering. I was going to also be teaming up with a sub.

I live in OZ, and have limited shops where I am. I only see B&W, Dali, Jamo, Focal as premium brands. Any recommendations.

2) Are there any good online stores from back in the UK or abroad. I know normally you should support your local store, but in my case, that doesn't really exist.

3) I would also like the setup to sound great with action films. How does this influence my decision?

Thanks,

Nathan

Just a few things Nathan.............

firstly ..you have a 6m by 6m tiled room....so you want if possible to avoid any set up thats going to sound way to boomy...I know its hot in Aus but it may be an idea to invest in say some soft furnishings,,,rugs,,,,,,cusions,,,,,plants to make a better acoustic environment.

the denon is a very good bit of a kit for films and it ain't to bad with music either........have you any idea of how much you have to spend......?.....then maybe the forum can help with complete surround package suggestions and the like. and wether you can get them over in Aus.......

have a think if you would be happy with 2.1 or 5.1........

the AVI Neutron five would be great for classical in particular and are available worldwide........but they arn't cheap.......

sorry for the rambling reply...
