Why are couriers so comedically unreliable? I fail to see what's so difficult about moving stuff around - and if you can repeatedly email and text me confirming a supposed delivery slot, maybe actually showing up would be nice. I'll leave you to imagine the word I want to type here. It's a strong one, and in the plural...

Speaking of couriers, I'm expecting a delivery any time soon. They have a habit, particularly the one's from Amazon, leaving it outside the door, no knock, no nothing.
You hope the elements will be kind or nobody steals it.

Actually I better go and check outside the door....thanks for the post!

Or as in our case, amazon drivers regularly delivering to any of the three streets around us and not our house. Is it really that hard? We have a street name sign above our back door, one on the front of the house.

As far as couriers go, around these parts we have -

RM postie - very obliging and helpful, especially if it's our usual guy

Evri - normally very good and obliging, if it's our usual guy otherwise variable

DPD - normally very good and obliging and advise a 1hr delivery slot, if it's our usual guy otherwise variable

Amazon - if your lucky will leave it propped against the front door irrespective of weather and does not ring/knock - occasionally will leave it outside our property propped against the garage door in full view of passers by!

UPS - Thought they were OK and insurance for high value goods was quite reasonable then they "lost" a high value piece of HiFi I was sending to a buyer whilst it was "out for delivery" and they took ages to investigate and could not find it - maybe look in the drivers garage? Took even longer to pay out! I avoid them now.

Yodel - absolute worst most of the time. Even had a spate where one particular guy was doing a drive by delivery where he would take a close up photo of the parcel perched on his knee in the van as proof of delivery and then sling the package out of the window - sometimes ended up in the road or under my neighbours car on their drive! Best of all Yodel CS would accept that photo as proof and ask what the problem was! Definitely Room 101 material.

DPD are the worst for us now, especially at work. The old drivers were great but the new drivers! A number of our suppliers use DPD, Roberts Radio are one. DPD drivers will dump boxes just inside our roller shutter in full view of the general public and don't even let us know they've been. It would take an extra few seconds just to walk round the corner and make themselves known, like the old drivers used to and we'd help unload the delivery. I once shut the 8ft high internal security gate with the idea of making DPD drivers press the call button that rings a klaxon in our warehouse and the DPD driver tossed the box over the gate. A box containing a Roberts Radio that DPD had failed to deliver the previous day with the rest of the delivery. That's another thing that DPD do, split deliveries that have clearly been sent by our suppliers in one go, labels will say 1 of 20 etc with the date and DPD every time will miss a number of boxes off and deliver them over the next few days.

GOV.UK One app. Trying to renew my photo license as the date on my photo license doesn't match DVLA records, turns out i renewed my license a few years ago but never received it. The app is useless, got to Face Scan part of the app and it won't connect keeps saying error then I get spinning circle for 10mins at a time. Now waiting for an agent on gov. website

Computer systems, government agencies and, UK governments of all flavours, are never easy bedfellows.

I have the Razor Huntsmen top keyboard, you won't recognise it with those customised keycaps! 🙂
Each keycap has it's own dedicated light. I don't mean the led, the keycaps are controlled by laser light in place of a mechanical switch.

Though, I have to say my preference is Steelseries keyboard, also unrecognisable. It uses magnetic technology, better feel and response than the Huntsmen, both quality keyboards nevertheless. (and you get to customise the cables, unlike the razer KB, it's fixed)

That's given me a headache at first sight 😂.

But if you can endure it, looks great

The amount of council tax charged to the dead. Just had dad's bill through as the house sale fell through after four rmonths...
On a slightly similar but different note... Property legal fees (in Italy in this case, not UK).

Have been looking at putting my gran 's house in my name, as my aging parents can't look after it anymore, and it is €6K just to transfer the deeds - for a house/apartment worth €40k!! Insane...

And there goes my speakers upgrade 😂

Yet again I would like to nominate myself for room 101. Nearly a year ago while leaving work I dropped my car key, picked it up, walked to the car and noticed the side panel of my key with all the unlock/lock buttons was missing. I retraced my steps looked around where I had dropped the key and couldn't find the little side panel. Fortunately my car will unlock when I grab the door handle if I have the key on me. For nearly a year I've been using my other key.
Yesterday I opened the central storage compartment to access the sd card so I could update the sat nav, there in the bottom of the compartment was the side panel of the key. It hadn't broken off when i dropped the key but had come off earlier and I hadn't noticed 🤦‍♂. Any way the side panel is now clipped and secured back in place.

Microsoft Teams (or me for forgetting my headphones).
Trying to concentrate on work whilst multiple other people in the office are on endless Teams calls is nigh on impossible. Same is true of in office chit chat.

Normally I block out such noise with headphones. Unfortunately I left them at home.

I bring all my gear to the office, not just my headphones 🙂 I get some colleagues staring at the led lighting on my mouse and keyboard.
