Hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum.

I currently have this system:

Amp: Roksan Kandy K2

CD Player: Roksan Kandy K2 CD

Speakers: B&W 685 S2

My question is regarding the speakers. Would be a good investment to buy the Roksan Kandy K2 TR-5 and ditch the B&W's? Did anyone hear both of them?

Thank you all for the help in advance. Good listenings!

Welcome

Thats a tough one.
Im a big fan of the roksan k2 speakers. Id love to spend more time with them than a demo.

Inly you can decide which one is the best. Id try arrange a demo at your house to see for yourself.

Btw whats wrong with the sound as it stands?

IME you will miss the B&W bass if you switch over to TR5s. I found them lacking in that department. Maybe in a smaller room and close to walls they would do better.

Thank you for the fast answer. I currently have no problem at all. The thing is that there's an opportunity to buy the Roksans for a cheap price and I just thought they could perform better than the B&W's since they cost almost 2 times the price of the B&W's. One morr thing, my room is relatively small, with something like 20 to 25 square meters.

In the bass department is there a big difference between the two? Regarding the highs and midrange does anyone outperform the other? Thank you.

The bass was good quality but not big and the bws will be stronger on that one

25m2 is huge for the pettite TR5s. They simply have no room filling bass. Very thin.

I could have bought them for cheap in gorgeous Rosewood finish too but I wouldn't have enjoy them as much as I did the B&W CM1 at the time.

Guys I already auditioned the Roksans and compared them with my B&W. In my opinion there isn't a clear winner. Both speakers have their qualities and flaws. To sum it all up I think they are just different. Regarding the bass I prefer the Roksans because it has morr controlled and dry bass. On the other hand the B&W's have a lousier bass though powerful and room filling. The midrange is good in both speakers, maybe better in the B&W's. Finally the high range is better in the Roksans, more airy and more detailed.
Conclusion: both are great speakers. The Roksans can be a little unpredictable and will sound worse when playing bad records. The B&W's are more forgiving.

What are you going to do? Keep the bws?

I still haven't made up my mind... The Roksans are a great deal even though they didn't reveal to be a much better option than the B&W's. I will have the Roksans at my place 'till this weekend so I'll continue to listen to both Roksans and B&W's and at the weekend I'll post my decision here. What would you do?

After some good hours of comparisions I've made up my mind. I'll keep the Roksans. After comparing both speakers for some time it becomes evident that the Roksans have better highs and mids and more controlled lows.

Thanks for your help guys. Good listenings.
