Mine was used via eBay, at about a third less. Never did ask the age, which I usually do, but it’s minty and the box is recent.Superb, I didn't even realise they were still available when I bought my 2nd NN50 last week…£999 off RICHERs ?

Room correction is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to make good sound in a bad room. To do this, you do not need to "select" speakers. That is why I consider this function to be the most important in modern audio equipment.I have tried room correction..
Lyngdorf
DIRAC
WiiM
All attempted with various software, mics, etc and nothing comes close to setting up stereo hifi with the right speakers to suit the room matched to the right amp for the speakers…
So you just buy what you want, put it where you want, and let digital EQ sort it out.Room correction is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to make good sound in a bad room. To do this, you do not need to "select" speakers.
Yeah.. ok…which means by default that any amplifier or preamplifier without correction is operating hamstrung and will sound worse than one with………………Room correction is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to make good sound in a bad room. Oh that's a shame. Did you have it working long enough to get a feel for how it sounded with your setup?Unfortunately my Caspian M2 developed an untraceable buzz. It began after a couple of days in the right channel. I checked all the connections to no avail. Turning it off seemed to fix it, until the next day anyway. Then it reoccurred in the left channel!
It was low level, and unaffected by the volume. To my logic that says it’s not an input or source, but after the preamp. Happened again so I wrote to the seller on Monday. After one more try it was back on the right, so I’ve returned it.
Seller was very understanding, which was appreciated. He had used filtered mains but he has local supply issues which in relatively rural Wales we don’t. All boxed up now and I’ll take it to the Post Office tomorrow. 🙁

Not really. Had plenty of energy when I let it have its head! Now I’m pondering whether to buy another one.Oh that's a shame. Did you have it working long enough to get a feel for how it sounded with your setup?
Sometimes quirky can be endearing, although some of those just sound a bit odd. Tricky to find working model to demo now though, and guessing the 4g won't be a good guide. Not really. Had plenty of energy when I let it have its head! Now I’m pondering whether to buy another one.
It does have few oddities, like red lights mean on rather than off or faulty! And the mute is labelled mode! But it’s likeable. However, the elusive Tape Monitor circuit is present, and it has balanced inputs optionally. But no headphone socket, so a bit strange. I think an ATC preamp might be more sensible.
