Ripping pre-gap tracks

Does anyone know of a way of ripping the hidden tracks at the beginning of albums, like 1977-Ash or Silent Alarm - Bloc Party?

You know the tracks where you have to rewind so the cd player shows a negative number.

DB Poweramp is capable of ripping these tracks, as I think is EAC. However, this comes with a big caveat. I have not actually been able to rip any of these tracks, despite the option being there. My searches on the web suggest that the ability to do this is more dependent on the ability of the drive to do so than the software.

I have never tried any of the workarounds posted on the various forums dealing with the issue. If you want to see these just google "how to rip hidden tracks on cd" and you will get multiple choices.

I have succeeded ripping these tracks using dbPowerAmp, so I guess it may depend on the drive you are using.
