Right size tv

Before changing my 37" tv to a 42" can anyone tell me that my viewing distance of 6 to 7 feet will be OK esp for SD ? Thank you.

I know that other people will disagree with me, and that's fine. Why are you changing your TV at all? A more modern set, with better facilities and specification perhaps? If, however, your only reason to change is to get a bigger version of what you already have, and everything else stays the same, then changing from a 37" to only a 42" would be, in my humble opinion, a complete waste of your money. To get a definite sense of a bigger size you need to go to 46"/47" or even to 50".

I'd echo that. 50" could be too big for your room or for the space where you're TV goes, but if your spending the money on a new set then may as well go to mid-40"'s; going from 37" to 42" will not feel like that big a jump, especially after you've been watching it a few days.

Definitely bigger the better.
