I hadn’t appreciated there was still a market for projectors costing £6,000 plus, but I guess if you’ve a screen in a large room that’s what you need for best results?
A TV flagship gives you best results.

That’s what I often felt, but I’ve never seen a great projector in a home setting.
I have seen a projector at the cinema and to be honest I can’t stand them. I also have seen a projectors at home cinema shops on screens and no not for me. And I have used 2 projectors at home on the wall and they are noisy and expensive to keep and the picture is nowhere near that of my Samsung flagship QLED.

I haven’t tried a £6000 plus projector at home though who has? But the black levels won’t be that of a flagship TVs, it will be noisy and very expensive to keep, bulbs for the expensive projectors with housing cost near £400! And you don’t get many hours out of them something like 3000 hours! HDR is said not to be good on a projector at £6000 and HDR is where it’s at the moment for best performance.

You never had a proper projector system though. I repeatedly told you projecting on a wall will never give you a good image quality. I don't know why you bought so many projectors if you didn't like the projector picture quality in the shops on a screen.

There was a time when your TV became redundant:

My projector is over 5 years old and I haven't changed the bulb yet. So this will easily outlive your cycle of changing TVs and projectors 😉

Some of the projectors have a bulb life of over 10 years.....will easily last the lifetime of the projector.

Black levels are dependent on the screen as well as the environment. Also, I never hear the noise from my projector because it's a proper projector based home cinema system, not some temporary arrangements.

How much is a laser projector and 120” screen compared to a 120” TV. (Not forgetting the constant intrusiveness of a TV that large)

Cinemas have always used projectors since they started (Long before you were born) hence the cinematic experience terminology, however TVs have always been for general use, and most people who own them (Even big ones) always go to the cinema if there is a film they really like as a TV just cannot compare.

I only bought 2 projectors and both were faulty hence why I never bought another one. I liked the size of the image though. I like high end picture quality on TVs and yes I don’t tend to use my TV for long periods and the same was true of the projector. The projector was situated right next to me so I could really hear the noise it was like 30db quite easy to hear.

Yes, according to members on AVF when I asked about projector noise your projector is the most quietest projector going but I don’t want 1080p projector the picture on HDR is so much better especially having a QLED TV. The JVC projectors and Sony projectors don’t have long life bulb that I linked too in this thread and they cost a fortune to buy.

Another prob I encountered was that I had to have a cable going across my rooms floor the HDMI 5 metre cables from my home cinema system to the projector for good sound quality this was the last straw really.

Perhaps if I could find the perfect projector for myself I will buy another projector I still look at them but I have yet to find one.

I would say next time you look at buying a projector, get a screen at the same time and get it installed professionally.
But - I dont think you really need one given all your (4?) high end TVs.
