Replacing Pioneer bdp-lx55

Hi i have recently started having problems with my lx 55 ( giving off small shocks and the player freezing and not switching on) Rather than get it fixed I thought I would get a new one to partner my pioneer avr-lx55. I have a budget of about £250 and was wondering if anyone had any ideas, it is mainly picture and audio quality I'm interested in and not the smart features as I have a plethora of them on different kit. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

There is the pioneer bdp 450 which will have same pic quality for bluray if your screen has been calibrated. The only problem with the 450 is the build quality feels cheap and not as good as the lx55.

or the marantz what gel is recomending is a good choice in terms of build quality.

For blu ray picture quality, I have not found any difference between players. For sound, if you use your brilliant Pioneer amp to decode audio, there will be no performance difference between players. If DVD upscaling is imporant to you, and build quality, look at Denon 1713UD which is within your budget:
