Replacement remote for LG TV

As most of you know my daughter purchased a 32" LG TV less than 3 years ago. The LG remotes are so flimsy, it's now given up the ghost.

Yesterday, went to Currys, where the TV was purchased. Purchased a "One For All" remote for all LG TVs. The quality is far superior to the original LG. Given that modern TVs don't work without the remote, why do they cut corners on remote controls? The picture quality is still very good for a budget TV but the remote control is way below par.

Good result. Our LG remote is fine after a yr tho the trackball thing drives me crazy. As does WebOS. The only remotes I’ve ever had die have been Samsungs.
