Regarding Onkyo TX-SR607

Hello

I need amplifier for using with Cd player.Now the above model is home surround home theatre receiver.I know it will work as amplifier with my cd player.my question is will be good enough for playing with Cd player or shall i look for Amplifier only because my impression is they are better when you use it with cd player.Now i am getting the above model fairly cheap on sale so i am tempted to buy.So can somebody pleasetell me how good is the above model and will it be good enough with Cd player.

Really rather depends on the quality of the CD player and the speakers with which it's going to be used, but in general terms if you don't need the surround capability, a stereo amplifier will be a better bet.
