Looks the biz. Do like the look of Rega's latest turntables. Does anyone know the prospective cost? I would guess (and it is purely that), the RP8 is about £1600, then the 10 should be around £1800-£2000. If those figures are right that brings it into Gyrodec territory. Tough market to crack.

Yes. A great update on the old factory tour that used to be on the Rega website (from at least 10 years ago).

That Naiad has shades of Kuzma Stabi S about it with a little bit of funk firm Saffire II chucked in for good measure. Nowt new in the TT game is there.

Yip Mr Penguin , there are loads out there in that price bracket but my money is on it will cost more than that.

Does anyone know the prospective cost? I would guess (and it is purely that), the RP8 is about £1600, then the 10 should be around £1800-£2000.

If the difference were that small then no-one would bother buying the RP8. (If you can afford £1600 then you can also afford £1800-£2000).

I would add another £1000 to your guess and raise it.

(Those precision machined ceramic platters aren't cheap. The one on the P9 was made from the same material found in some missile nosecones and cost more - for the platter alone - than an entire Rega P5 at the time.)

Then again, it might come as a package with it's own dedicated power supply like the P9 used to.

I will stick my neck out and say £4798 (Rega like prices that end in 98 ) for an RP10 with power supply and £25,000 (ish) for the 'Naiad' if it appears as a production model. (Probably only a very few, built to order, to mark their 40th anniversary.)

All guesses. (And very conservative ones. I wouldn't be suprised if I were erring on the low side.)

Any company that supports British jobs gets my support and next upgrade will be Rega in no small part due to this. So many companies now pushing their British roots while trying to keep quiet about where things are made.

Well, as the country of origin is normally printed somewhere on the product and packaging, it seems rather difficult to hide plus if it is 'designed in UK' but made in Shenzen it still supports british jobs in a way (plus is probably equally well if not better built).

Yeah, but the most of the Naiad (and the most expensive bits at that) could survive re-entry through the Earth's atmosphere intact (should you ever need to launch it into space).

Good point. Though I suspect that if I spent that much on a turntable, it would be me etc etc...

I hardly think that the workers in Shenzen are contributing to the British Economy in the same way that companies like Naim, Rega, and many other good quality British manufactoies do...............
