Ah yes sorry I misread the thread title.I was more thinking about the 100c
I'd take the Technics but ditch the cartridge it comes with....I had the Rega previously but the Technics looks good. Which one would you have?
Yep. But this has a conical tip.Use several cartridges with NUDE Spherical styli

Goldring G1042?Any cartridge suggestions? It will only be used occasionally for treasured music on vinyl so I do not want (or can) spend too much. Budget up to £350. MM only.
In the past I have always preferred the Ortofon sound to AT. More direct and less 'etheral' but that was on different tonearms/tables.
Thanks
Not for £350 I feel.Cartridge with built in headshell quick fit & plug and play on a Technics

I really like the looks of this one (and I think I once linked to it in another thread) but a conical in a £400+ cartridge is quite a lot.Cartridge with built in headshell quick fit & plug and play on a Technics

i think the technics would be to stay the P3 isn´t for me a aceptable turntable, but after reading your comment i say the cartridge is your problem ,buy better , 50 years ago where did they sell Rega P3, as at the time turntables, cartridges and stylus have nothing to do with today badly built everything, but if i had a Rega cd player there was maybe some years before the P3 but should have been the best as it wasn´t built like today or it would be sold by 2€, even with this price don´t know if anyone would buy it, but seems that what this means is that Rega knew how to build turntables so today they are stealing from people like if in the street with a knife, asking, no demanding "give me all your money!!!" it´s the same or even worst, like stabbing you with a knife and after checking your pockets and wallet for money, that is Rega if it built turntables 50 years agoI have both the SL1500c (With 2M blue or 95ML) and the rega P3 50th anniversary as stock. They are both fine turntables and I would be happy with either. I struggle to sell one vs the other as they both bring something different to the musical experience. In my system the main difference is the P3 is a little warmer with more tone density, plus a sense of speed that has me tapping my feet and not thinking about the technicalities. The SL1500 has rock solid imaging and detail and wows with what it seems to pull from the grooves, it has me peering into the music through its lovely soundstage.
P3 has me eyes closed, leaning back and nodding/taping feet, sl1500 has me wide eyed and leaning forward into the music. If I were pushed to choose, I would stick with the SL1500 as I am sure it will scale with much better cartridges, but P3 seems like Rega have already optimised the design of the P3 50th anniversary.
