Rega Brio-r Matching Speakers

Hi

Currently I am using an Onkyo TX-8255 receiver with Monitor Audio BX-2 speakers.

I want to upgrade to a better amp. If I were to purchase the rega brio-r would this be an upgrade or would I just be wasting my money.

Is the rega amp a good match for the MA BX-2

The Brio R would be more than fine for driving the BX2 speakers, and it will be a definite uplift over the Onkyo

This is all IMO though

The Brio R is capable of driving speakers at 5 times the price of the BX2

The Rega is certainly more musical than your Onkyo. It would work well with the Monitor Audios.

Hi Musicraft,

I also have Brio-R and trying to find best matching speakers.

Unfortunately, there is no hi-fi store intown, so listening to different options are very limited.

Per my budged and the reviews I read, I am considering the ones below.

Do you have any recommendations from the list which you think Brio can drive better and match appropriately?

I am running the Brio-r through my old MA RS6 and I love it. Before I bought my Brio, I auditioned it with the RX6's and to me they also sounded very good. Now I am not an expert but I quite like the MA/Rega combo. Thanks.
