What´s said about Pionner "The SC-LX81 can output a useful 190W per channel."

What´s said about Yamaha : "Looking purely at its specification, the RX-V3900 looks positively underpowered when compared with rivals such as the Pioneer SC-LX81 and Onkyo TX-NR906. A miserly 140W per channel? You're probably wondering whether it's even worth the Yamaha turning up"

IMO you cannot compare power data without mentioning impedance. (6 ohm vx 8 ohm)

Maybe it´s a mistake. I would never imagine WHF depreciating any brand or model.

I believe there are more reasons to choose Pioneer other than comparing power output.

Wattages on spec sheets are more marketing than anything else, I've heard moderately rated Harman receivers at 45 watt sound better than Onkyo's at '140 watt'. Yes, impedance has to be taken into account, also the ammount of channels driven and the THD used to measure.
