Hi all,

I am looking to buy some new over-ear headphones with a budget of around £100, a bit over would not matter. I currently own some Urbanears Zinken headphones but do not feel like they offer enough quality in their sound and are pretty uncomfortabel for long periods of listening. I

listen to all forms of music but mainly across the spectrum of drum and bass. I also DJ drum and bass so some headphones that can be used for DJing would be helpful too. To sum up i am looking for comfortable, noise cancelling headphones with the focus on quality rather than style.

Thanks in advance for any help

Why noise-cancelling? Over ear block out the 99% of noise anyway in most cases.

If you want them to DJ as well then you should look at AIAIAI TMA-1 and Reloop RHP-20, both sound great as well as being well built, on proper kit or on a phone.

I think he means noise isolating and I think you mean closed back, since there are probably more open back over-ear headphones than closed. Anyway, I commend your suggestions of the TMA-1 for DJ'ing, but isn't that on-ear rather than over-ear. Any idea how comfortable they are? I would suggest the Beyerdynamic DT770, but I think that might be a tad too much over budget.

Yes they are very comfortable in standard guise, they need to be for DJs using them for hours at a time. The Young Guru edition is a full over-ear, but more expensive but there is the new TMA-1x and the Beatport which are cheaper.

Please try to listen to the Grado 80i, AKG K550 and the Goldring NS100. All different but will give you an excellent basis to start from. The Grado's are about £100 on their site, AKG's about £125 and the Goldring's can be had for as little as £70 if you shop around and they have noise cancelling.
