Hey guys 🙂

I'm having some mates around next Saturday for an all nighter (movies, beer, Kebabs). What would be your recommendations if I said try to follow my guidlines..

#1. Brand new horror movie

#2. Really gory horror movie

#3. scary horror movie

#4. foreign horror movie

#5. (spare horror movie for backup)

I've thought about a couple, but am open to suggestions. Mirrors & High Tension were two of my choices but I don't want stuff by the same director 🙂

Cheers

#1. [REC]

#2. Cannibal Holocaust

#3

#4. Let the Right One In (though you'll have to find an arthouse cinema still showing it. Out on DVD/BD this year)

#5. The Ordeal

Frontier(s)

Pi

The Orphanageÿ

A Tale of Two Sisters

The Devils Backboneÿ

Delicatessenÿ

Switchblade Romance

ÿSorry not really a horror fan and most of these are foreign. All good though.ÿ

I'd suggest 'the reaping' as back up. I looked at it a few times in blockbuster and couldn't decide if it was going to be good or rubbish. Bought it for £3 in Zavvi yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Not so much a 'scary' horror, but entertaining and different from all the rest.

Delicatessen is a very good foreign film, but I would say it really only has one toe dipped in the 'horror' genre. It's funnier than it is horrific..... No reason not to watch it though.

Don't know if you've seen 'The Host'. It's a Korean monster movie that I thoroughly enjoyed.

haha, Delicatessen is a great wee movie. Also 'itchie the killer' for foreign, again not really scary horror but entertaining. could 'man bites dog' fit into the horror genre?

sorry i'm not really a horror fan. but enjoyed the above foreign movies.

The original "Ring" ("Ringu"). There are not many even half decent horror films now. The Koreans do horrific very well! Although "Oldboy" is not a horror film, it's undoubtedly the most sickening film I've seen - and it's also brilliant.

First choice without a doubt, i'd go for Halloween or Halloween 2. Have a good look at The Thing, as well. Carrie is a brilliant horror film, up there with the best of them. Other than that if you really want to go all out with the gore i'd say, Mum and Dad.

Have fun, Rorschach.
