as far as i'm aware, not one person can tell cables apart when they don't know what cable they are listening to. says it all for me. what i don't understand though, is why more people don't arrange to 'blind' test before parting with cash, as most know that blind testing reveals people can't tell the difference.

stop messing with cables, and go demo some actives. you'll hear some real improvements then. :)

Don't know if anyone has an answer to this but some companies add on a hefty premium for cable runs that are terminated in say banana plugs. I'd have thought a direct bare wire connection to the screw down speaker terminals would have been just as good. My bloke at local hifi shop recommended that. He also has another slight quirky though that each speaker cable should be the same length? Maybe there is something in that perhaps, resistance over a distance etc?

Also I wish someone would start and get into some new technology where cables, overall, speaker, connects, HDMI etc could be made much more compact and thinner. Looking down the back of my telly and system rack its nuts how much thick ugly cable is around, not a selling point for the Mrs. Maybe in time.

Well i'm having some meetings with several companies late next week that claim to have cracked the issue of sending high-resolution data (audio and video) wirelessly, even over decent distances, without significant quality impact. Shall be very interesting to see/hear that in action and report back...

Business a bit slack at the mo, David?

It tends to die off a bit near midnight

Thought so... mind you, my emails were dinging way beyond 10.00 pm for delivery this morning. Such is life...

Ah, I don't have access to work e-mails etc outside of work hours - just me, the 'Pad and the forums :)

In a discussion like this, that's contentious straight away
