Receiver that fits a small shelf

I currently have a big Onkyo AV receiver which sits on the top of my rack but for various logistical reasons, I need to get a replacement that will fit in one of the normal shelves below and will thus have restricted height and airflow. I'm looking for either something slim or one that needs very little clearance above. Apart from that, I'm looking for something with a good set of networking features, wired and Wifi/Blutooth, plenty of HDMIs and ideally a few phonos so I can connect a turntable etc. 5.1 is fine, I don't need 7.1. The obvious choice from my researching seems to be the Yamaha RXS601 at around £550. The similar Marantz models (slim) seem to be problematic so what else whould I be looking at?

In what way? The NR series is excellent.
