I looked at all the one's I've highlighted to you a while back...

Then went to Ikea with a tape measure etc to look at them, which is the only way to do it....

Can only get so much from 2D pictures!!!

a friendly fellow forum member lives in dublin, he says he'll go and suss them out for me, i trust his judgement and it saves me a 200 mile round trip....

Seen that one in the flesh too.......

Not trying to be rude, but the other half summed it up well.....

'It's a bit too granny looking!'

it is a bit bland ok, but the price is right, as is the size, plenty of room for things to breath, and with four black components on it and a plasma it mightn't look too bad.. i reckon i could live with it for a while

Take ya pick, or the other option is if you can turn your hand to a bit of wood work make your own as another forum member has done if memory serves my right.

not a great pic, but you can see why i need an av stand, and speaker stands

Just had a quick read through this thread and looked at the links. Trying to find a TV stand that I like aesthetically, and will accomodate all my equipment well, seems nigh-on impossible for reasonable money.

The problem with many of the stands suggested on this thread (and I assume you have similar requirements to me, Max) is that if you own a full-size centre speaker (i.e. at least 50cm wide and something in the region of 20cm high), none of the cabinets will house it properly. Ideally you want the centre speaker placed underneath, and centrally to, your screen. If there's a support running vertically through the middle of the stand then this is impossible.

In addition, and as mentioned earlier on the thread, you want enough shelf height/width to let your equipment breathe. If anyone can post a link to an AV rack that fits this description for up to £250 (that doesn't look ugly and has a solid back so you don't constantly see a mess of wires), I'll be mighty impressed.

You'd think someone would have spotted a gap in the market for a stand fitting this description; but I suppose the popularity of sub-sat speakers lessens demand for this type of product...

my centre is gone strapped, just a 2.1 set-up for me for the foreseeable..i had put my tv on a piece of wood when i had the centre, and that solved the problem for me..i know your stand is oval shaped but you could have a piece cut to suit and either sprayed black, or put a black veneer around it?

Strapped would something like this fit the bill ? Click

great price, might be hassle using the remotes though with solid fronts?

Agreed maybe someone could come up with a good suggestion to get round that like leave the doors off or something ?

Max have you noticed the site delivers to Ireland might be something in there you like.

there is a gadget that works around that problem, i think scene uses one for his av system, he's got doors on the front of his stand, some kind of infa red thing i think...

Yep, an IR extender/repeater would get around the issue.
