Real hornspeakers and accesibility for consumers

Why are real horn loudspeakers so incredibly overvalued and overpriced?

Googling them and I am surprised that they seem like the holy grail on the market.

What is it with these things?

Random quote
“Horns are wave guides but not all wave guides are horns”

On why they are so expensive
Multicell horns are complex and difficult to fabricate and thus have a higher associated expense.”

Okay. But non-multicellular wave guide hi-fi speakers like Klipsch and Tannoy produce(d) are often mislabelled and sold as being horns. And it feels like that kind of marketing keeps prices high. Fun fact is that their studio monitor counterparts are dead cheap.

And another thing is that even all kinds of modern “audiophile” horn speaker types already exist for a fairly long period. Which should by time give an ability to produce quality horn speakers for an accessible budget.

All and all it gives the impression that it is a game of keeping them pricey so they remain rare and exclusive and vice versa. A circle of exclusivity.

I wonder if there is any brand that aims to blow up the market by making quality horn speakers for the audio consumer rather than the “millionaire audiophiles.” :)
